Terrorists Win!

It’s a rather depressing story about a scientist throwing in the towel after years of sustained terrorist attacks from the american animal rights movement. Apparently George W’s “war on terror” does not extend to local extremist groups such as the ALF, PETA, “pro-life” organizations (AKA abortion clinic bombers) and their ilk. Firebombing scientists and their families/neighbours is a-ok, and does not qualify for an extended vacation at Guantanamo Bay.
Yet another nail in the coffin for the American scientific society - as if “creationism” being taught as science in the classrooms and the removal of funding for stem-cell research wasn’t enough. And here I was led to believe that fundamentalist theocracies were a bad thing!
